for Local Resident Michelle Watson |
| December 29th, 2007 - The
Chickasha Eagles 4070 & Chickasha Elks Lodge 2125 have
combined forces for a day of fund raising for Michelle Watson.
Michelle was paralyzed when an ice covered tree limb struck
her while she was assisting a neighbor with water during the
recent ice storm. All proceeds from the day’s events will go

Prosecution Update |
| December 14th, 2007 -Attorneys
for the defense were notified that the Honorable Allen McCall,
at the request of District Attorney Bret Burns, recused from
the cases of Helen McMullen, Kieran McMullen, Delmer Barthelme
and Robert Cacy on November 29, 2007. |
| The cases were then
re-assigned to Oklahoma County District Judge Virgil Black.
Motions hearings that were scheduled for December 14th
at 9 am were postponed. At the time of this publication, no
new date has been set for the hearings. |

| November 29th, 2007 -
Cheryl Lynn Bell was tried by jury and convicted of two counts
of First Degree Misdemeanor Manslaughter in the District Court
of Grady County, Case No. CF-2004-196. In accordance with the
jury’s recommendation, the Honorable Richard G. Van Dyck
sentenced Bell to two sentences of five years total
imprisonment. Judge Van Dyck ordered the sentences to run
consecutively, (one after the other). |
| During the trial, Bell was
represented by Attorneys John Hunsucker and James Todd.
Prosecuting the case at trial was Bret Burns, the District Attorney for Grady

| November 18, 2007 - The
traditional 172 foot tall lighted Christmas tree can be seen
from the interstate like a beacon, guiding holiday tourists,
as well as locals, to the Festival of Light. This is the 15th
year the Festival has drawn people to our town, promising
and delivering a holiday site like no other in the area. It
takes more than 1200 volunteers to construct over 100
displays and string roughly 3.5 million lights every year
through Shannon Spring Park. Read
